Portland's Church brings a record full of unique music that features both electric and acoustic instruments. While it surely not for everyone (its not the most accessible group of songs) it is a fantastically fun record. (video)

Black Heart Procession returns with another dark and creepy release. The songs are not for the faint of heart as they cover everything from death to suicide to hell. (video)
43. So Many Dynamos- The Loud Wars
So Many Dynamos bring a unique take on the dance pop genre. Bringing a math-rock perspective, these guys are able to create interesting rhythms while still reaming danceable. (video)
44. BLK JKS- After Robots
Fusing jazz, prog, reggae, and rock, BLK JKS bring a distinctively African flare to this release. The songs are fun and diverse and come together to make a great album. (video)
45. Neko Case- Middle Cyclone
What can I say about Neko that hasn't already been said? She's a fantastic artist and returns with yet another awesome release. (video)
46. Cursive- Mama, I'm Swollen
Omaha's Cursive returns with another sobering and somber release. Tim Kasher and company created yet another release with amazing lyrics ("I spent the best years of my life/Waiting on the best years of my life) complimented by their usual yet still interesting rocking sounds. (video)
47. Do Make Say Think- The Other Truths
At first listen, I wasn't overly impressed by the first track of the 43 minute, four song album by this Canadian, instrumental, post-rock band. But the orchestrated horn parts and the jazzy style drums (they have two drummers, but they know how to reign it in) throughout made this release enjoyable. They do a good job of having dynamic highs and lows without following the 'massive build up crescendos to heavy section' that so many instrumental bands use. (video)

The debut release from this Pac-NW artist features simple, yet great pop songs. With easily singable choruses and perfect melodies, this release is enjoyable throughout. (video)
49. Imogen Heap- Ellipse
Imogen latest release features her signature beautiful vocals with creative ways of using technology. While its not as good as its predecessor ("Hide and Seed") its still a solid album. (video)
50. Jonsi & Alex- Riceboy Sleeps
Beautiful, ambient music from one member of Sigur Ros and his boyfriend. Its even more experimental and atmospheric than Sigur Ros releases. (video)
