Um... Really?

"If girls realized the consequences of sex, nobody would be having sex," says Bristol, sitting at her parents' lakeside patio table. "Trust me. Nobody."

"If my mom realized the consequences of my getting knocked up would have on her political career she would have threw herself down a flight of stairs during her third trimester with me."

-Bristol Palin-

There, i fixed it.This may be begging the question a bit, but just how does a teenager with a baby become the poster child of abstinence in this country?

Adam...Because she now REALLY knows the consequences. Often times, the people that have 'been there, done that' understand what they are standing up for way more than those who have not had the actual experience. Glad you and Nole did not have that experience...HA! HA!

Why stop there. Why not talk about all of the people who would wear bicycle helmets if they knew that people died in bike accidents, or people who would quit smoking if they knew they could die of lung cancer, or people who would quit eating overprocessed foods if they knew it was going to give them cancer and a fat ass. People say dumb stuff all of the time, but pigybacking on Adam's comment this speaks to the poor state of American journalism, when someone has put a camera and microphone in front of her face.

On a different journalism note, did you see John Legend's commencment speech on Democracy now http://www.democracynow.org/2009/5/19/a_commitment_to_truth_requires_a

Amazing!
