Blood Drive Discrimination

Surprising (and heart-breaking) fact: since the 1970s the FDA has had a complete ban on gay men donating blood. My guess is that few of you knew this prior to reading this post. All three major blood collection groups (including the Red Cross) have urge the FDA to lift the base-less ban. But to no avail.

My friend Bjorn Peterson wrote a great article in the local community college newspaper urging fellow students to stand up against this openly discriminatory practice by boycotting blood drives.
