The Fruits of our Labor

This was our second year at planting a vegetable garden. Last year was just ok. We got a couple tomatoes, one bell pepper, one hot pepper, and some parsley. Most of out crops didn't make it because we were in Europe for three weeks and we couldn't give the the TLC they needed.

This year, we determined, was going to be different. We planted from seeds (rather than from small plants already growing) and we planted a lot more. Our crops included tomatoes, bell peppers, lettuce, onions, hot peppers, hot chillies, mini pumpkins, cilantro, strawberries, raspberries, and asparagus. The last three items take a couple of years to get going, so we'll see how well they do down the road.

After the plants had established themselves in the greenhouse, we moved many of the plants to our outside veggie patch. So far, we've enjoyed tons of lettuce, a green onion, and a hot pepper. Hopefully there will be plenty more home-grown veggies for us to eat in the near future.
